Kept my head and ears warm on the coldest winter day
I swapped this hat out for my black beanie last week and it's been warm and cozy. For context, I regularly go hiking in the morning and so I'm legit out in the freezing cold for up to or over an hour before the sun is fully up; this hat has been keeping me warm in seriously cold weather… the take your muffler down and automatically start crying and snot-facing like a child because the wind chill smacked you in the face kind of cold–no problem with this hat. I appreciate that it is easy on the hair and recognize this as its main feature, but honestly, for me I care most about the warmth it can provide me. I don't care for the fold thickness because it makes it harder to wear standard headphones, but this hasn't been a deal breaker at all this week and we've had some of the coldest temperatures in the past couple years in my state this past week, so I think my beef with the thick fold up is just a personal issue and others probably won't be fussed. Still, I want potential buyers to trust my reviews, so I try to be as transparent as possible for what I genuinely like and dislike about products. I also never deduct stars for personal preferences and this is just that, so 5-stars for keeping me warm (even though my headphones slip off more easily), for having a well-stitched satin liner (this product is not cheaply made at, rather it's great quality), and for not having an obnoxiously large beanie label on the fold–I hate companies that think I pay them to advertise for them, so kudos for the discrete branding on this hat. nb. if you're looking for a slouchier beanie cap–the style that's trended of late, keep looking because this one is a snug fit; honestly, the model in the product add would have freezing ears to get that 'poof' from the top of the hat. If you're going to cover your ears, then it should be noted the top of the beanie will be sitting on your skull, not 'poofed' up like the photo. This wasn't an issue for me as all my beanies are purchased for functionality rather than style, but I know the slouchy beanie is popular… so there's your heads up. Summary: If you're looking for a hat that will protect your hair from breakage and frizz, then I would suggest you consider this hat and buy with confidence.

    I’ve been using a regular satin bonnet but I have such a small head and thin hair that it would just slide off or fall into my eyes. Due to the extremely cold temps of winter and trying to keep my head warm at the same time at night, I came across this and found a near perfect solution. It is still a bit too big, but I can fold it and pull it down over my ears, and it doesn’t slip off like a bonnet. I am so glad I found this – it’s warm, comfortable, and the satin inside protects my hair. I will likely buy a 2nd one at some point to keep in my camper for the spring and fall.

    Pros:

    > As soon as you put it on, there is in fact a warmth that starts to arise pretty quickly. It may be the satin lining in combination with the outer aprt of the beanie.
    > Two color options – a soft pink and black. Not sure how that is for the coloring going to your scalp though when it warms up.

    Cons:
    > Couldn't really tell how it was anti-frizz. It was okay, but still had frizz. Even some hat hair.
    > This can pull at the hair making your scalp feel a little sensitive over a limited amount of time. I also read too much use from a beanie can perhaps cause hair loss.
    > Breathability wasn't really there for the scalp.
    > Kind of tight for those with bigger than "average" head sizes.

    It may seem like I had more cons than pros listed, but it really depends on the individual. This can be a great option for folks, especially in cold weather. Many individuals found this beanie to be comfortable and cute, and I can see that. Wasn't for me, but it definitely has its positives.

    If you're going to get this, make sure to do so when there's a sale! No need to pay full price if you can get it at a nicer price point.
